Exhibiting at the Content Marketing Show 2013

clockworkTalent Were On The Road Again – At the Content Marketing Show

It was an exciting couple of days for clockworkTalent. We got to attend Ryan Skinner‘s workshop the day prior to the Content Marketing Show. Focused on B2B Content Marketing, I found Ryan’s tutorial both engaging and informative. He made me think not only as a Content Writer but as a business owner; evaluating what my business needs and what I should be focused on for my clients. In the true spirit of our industry, after delivering a great workshop Ryan was kind enough to share his notes, presentation and really helpful links to Spinnakr‘s ready made Content Marketing dashboard and a great metrics blog by Avinash Kaushik and much more.

Friday 31st dawned and doors opened for the Content Marketing Show; with upto 1,000 people devoted to Content Marketing learning, sharing and networking.

I was fortunate to have a ring side stand to survey the exhibition hall as well as interact with the crowd.

There were people of all levels with different agendas. From graduates looking to understand how they can make that first move into a paid role which will launch themselves into a successful career; to those people who yearn to make a career move to progress themselves and want to know how to better their possibility of success. To those industry leaders, who know they are achieving great success but always wonder if there might be that “undefinable” gem opportunity round the corner. The flip side of this was how many companies are looking to bring Content talent into their businesses. The major Financial Services organisations, the niche web design agency, the uber-cool agency in London and so many more – all  sizes, styles and industries.

For exhibitors, it was clear… food means friend… and Content Marketers are an ultra friendly crowd. With Zazzle providing fortune cookies (I hope you noticed their custom made cushions!); the Press Association’s cupcakes; the pick and mix old fashioned sweets from Caliber and Red Rocket Marketing‘s Fizz Whizz … it was sugar rush heaven. I am pleased to report I sampled them all!

Thank you everyone for a wonderful event. I met many, many interesting people; hope to recruit for some of you and aim to find some others of you new career ventures. See you at the next event, if not before.
