brightonSEO September 2016 – The Biggest and The Best So Far

It Came And It Triumphed – The Leading Search Marketing Conference Does It Again

The very start of September introduced a new chapter in the life of brightonSEO. With origins in a room above a pub, now one of Europe’s most loved and largest Search Marketing conferences, it’s only gone and gotten even bigger; moving from the Brighton Dome into the Brighton Centre!

Increased attendance, more games, more talks, more exhibitors, more fun! Kelvin Newman and the Rough Agenda team have nailed it once again.

Now playing host to some 4000 Digital Marketers, Brighton rapidly became awash with chequered shirts, tidy beards and blue lanyards. It’s time to talk Search!

The Training

Thursday, 1st September was entirely dedicated to training and learning within the digital marketing spectrum, with the lucky attendees embarking on the Brighton Centre and The Grand to converse with some of the best brains in the business. To give you an idea of what was on offer, the team here at clockworkTalent joined in with:

Amazon SEO & Marketing – run by Prabhat Shah

Video SEO Training Course – run by Carla Marshall

We can safely say we thoroughly enjoyed them. Both Prabhat and Carla are exemplary in their individual areas of expertise and each course was delivered in an engaging and informative style, with passion oozing from the presentations shared by each course leader. To paraphrase Shia LaBeouf, if you’re considering whether or not to apply for the next set of training courses in April, DO IT!

The day also included a complimentary lunch (curry if you were in the Centre and tagine / risotto at The Grand), where we got an opportunity to down tools and to discuss our learnings over a glass of wine or two.  It was amazing to see so much excitement and enthusiasm, all in one room, for the online industry in all it’s various guises. To all we met and talked with during the day, thank you, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you! To those we missed out on talking to, there’s always next time or feel free to reach out to us anytime!

On the day, the sun was shining,  the sea was twinkling, conversations flowing and networking was in abundance. So many people and so much joint passion for Digital Marketing. It was an amazing opportunity to develop one’s knowledge while meeting new people.

The Conference

The 2nd of September was time for the big one… The alarm clocks of many Digital Marketers began buzzing at the crack of dawn – you did not want to miss out on this!

With all the exhibitors set up, lanyards and goodie bags at the ready, and coffee cups eager to be filled, the doors opened and floods of people  strolled in. The Centre went from being a desolate space with potential, to being one of the most popular places in town! Very quickly it was filled to the brim and Search Marketing was on everyone’s lips (with whispers of google, rankings, linkbuilding, analytics and everything else in the background).

From 9am until 6pm, speeches, talks, collaboration, entertainment and free coffee was the agenda for the day – and wasn’t it just incredible?! We had some of the biggest names in Digital Marketing deliver insightful and innovative talks; we had exhibitors playing games and offering out free gifts; and we had a VW camper van parked centre stage!

As the preferred Recruitment Agency to brightonSEO and a wider network of Digital businesses, we are so very thankful to, once again, have a place to set up shop and talk to many excitable Digital Marketers. Neighbours to Yext (the headline sponsor) we were given hugs from previous candidates who had found their next career step with our help, shake hands with employers we had assisted in finding their unicorn, and a greeting smile from people we had never met before but were excited to talk to.

In the evening, those in attendance were able to exchange their beer token for a well-deserved beverage and gossip about what they had learned that day, with people they may have only known for a few hours!

All in all, we had a very successful and enjoyable brightonSEO – having been absolutely immersed in the Digital culture once again. Not only that, but we have returned to the office with many amazing contacts and careers to present to our friends. Make sure you keep a track of our new job updates by following our Twitter feed / Website.

The next brightonSEO is in April 2017 (which feels annoyingly long away!), so make sure you keep an eye out for that – no doubt the tickets will sell out in record time once again!

In the meantime, MeasureFest is in November, and ideal for the data and analytical professionals among you.

The Thanks
